Do you remember the story of Cinderalla. Poor Cinderella was this girl abused by her step family. And the thing that saved her was … magic! Her fairy god-mother’s magic!
But if happiness and hope is what magic brings, then I think I believe in magic too.
It is almost magic that I want something, I pray to someone invisible, someone I have never seen and I am helped by that Someone in getting what I want!
Be it success in an exam, a strawberry ice-cream or peace of mind that I desire, Allah, my Guide (Al-Hadi) and my Helping Friend (Al-Waliyy) makes that wish come true.
This magic is exponential times more magical than the one done by Cinderalla’s fairy god-mother for as you must remember, it had its limits. I am sure girls out there would have wished that they had such a fairy god-mother too who would help getting to their Prince Charming, or perhaps achieving something else…
Fortunately, my Muslim sisters and even brothers, already have such a source of magical help… a helping had from their Lord.
They seek love and care and get it from Al-Wadūd, the Loving
They seek security and protection and they get it unconditionally from Al-Māni', the Protector.
They pray for success in mundane as well as important things in life such as winning a gaming contest or an academic exam and they are helped by none other than Al-Fattāh, the Victory Giver.
So, YES! I believe in magic… the magic of Allah, my Helping Friend (Al-Waliyy)
Oh Allah! I love you.
